Service Description

What You’ll Learn Participants are guided through the full weldment process with an emphasis on technique, code‑quality execution, and repeatable results. Core instruction includes: - Root Pass Fundamentals — Students learn how to produce a proper, fully penetrating root pass from under Washington Association standards, focusing on puddle control, keyhole management, feather‑edge preparation, and heat input discipline. - Hot Pass and Fill Techniques — Training covers how to stabilize the weld after the root, eliminate internal defects, and build uniform fill layers on heavy‑wall pipe. - Intolerance Cap Pass — The course concludes with instruction on applying a clean, consistent intolerance cap pass that meets structural and visual acceptance criteria for high‑pressure pipe systems. - Tick Welding Methodology — Students practice the signature tick‑welding rhythm and travel technique used in pipeline and industrial pipefitting work, emphasizing timing, arc length, and bead stacking. Course Outcomes By the end of the class, welders will be able to: - Prepare and weld Schedule 80 and Schedule 120 pipe to industry expectations - Execute a proper root pass that meets Washington Association requirements - Apply a structurally sound, visually acceptable intolerance cap pass - Demonstrate improved control, consistency, and weld quality across all positions This course is ideal for welders preparing for certification tests, pipeline work, refinery or industrial maintenance roles, or anyone looking to elevate their pipe‑welding skill set. ---
